Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education (SRE) and/or special education in ethics (SEE) delivered by approved providers, where available.

During enrolment, you can choose an SRE/SEE option for your child and you can update your preference at any time by writing to the school or through the online form on the school's online enrolment page.

Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.

At Railway Town Public School, Special Religious Education is provided by SRE teachers from different Christian denominations and churches.

The approved providers in the combined arrangement are:

Anglican Diocese of Riverina;
Saltbush Evangelical Church (Broken Hill);
Churches of Christ in NSW and ACT; and
CRC Churches International NSW.

Christian SRE engages students in conversations as they question life, explore values and discover faith.

The Christian SRE curriculum is authorised by Saltbush Evangelical Church (Broken Hill).

The curriculum is based on the Good News about Jesus Christ and learning the key elements of our Christian life and culture.  Details can be found at http://cepconnect.com.au/curriculum.

All Christian SRE teachers are authorised and trained by an approved provider.

During the time SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities (eg. reading, completing homework).
